Don Bosco School, Pinapaka, Wyra, marked a significant milestone on 23 February 2026 with the inauguration of the extension of the first floor of its school building, strengthening its infrastructure to meet the growing educational needs of the region.

Over the years, the school has witnessed remarkable growth in student enrollment, making the expansion of learning space an urgent necessity. The newly constructed floor now provides additional classrooms and improved facilities to better serve the expanding student community.

A Collaborative Effort Led by Don Bosco Life (DB Life) This expansion was made possible through the committed efforts of Don Bosco Life (DB Life), Resource Mission & BIRDY, which prepared and submitted the project proposal and mobilised international support for the initiative.

Through the coordination of DB Life, funds were secured from Jugend Eine Welt, Austria, with the generous backing of the Upper Austrian Government, DKFM Dr. Helga Müller, Missioni Don Bosco (Turin, Italy), Diocese of Passau (Germany), and Don Bosco Mission (Bonn, Germany). Their collaboration and solidarity made the infrastructure expansion a reality.

The project stands as a testimony to the strength of international partnerships built on trust, accountability, and a shared commitment to quality education for marginalized communities.

Inaugural Ceremony

The programme commenced at 11:00 AM with the formal inaugural ceremony, which included the unveiling of the commemorative plaque, ribbon cutting, and symbolic inauguration of the newly constructed block.

The extension was inaugurated by Mr. Reinhard Heiserer, CEO of Jugend Eine Welt, Austria, in the presence of Fr. Thomas Santiagu, SDB, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Hyderabad, and Fr. Noel, Director of Don Bosco Life (DB Life), Resource Mission & BIRDY, along with members of the Salesian Province, school leadership, benefactors, staff, and well-wishers.

The students’ welcome dance added colour and joy to the inauguration celebration, reflecting the vibrant spirit of Don Bosco School, Wyra.

Felicitation and Cultural Programme

Following the inaugural ceremony, a felicitation and cultural programme was conducted.

Fr. Thomas Santiagu, SDB (Provincial), Fr. G. Kishore (Vice Provincial), Fr. Noel (Director, Don Bosco Life, Resource Mission & BIRDY), Fr. Sharath (Director, Bosco Seva Kendra), and Mr. Rambabu (Engineer & Contractor) were honoured in recognition of their leadership and contribution to the successful implementation of the project.

During the message session, speakers emphasized the importance of strengthening educational infrastructure in rural communities. It was highlighted that well-equipped and spacious learning environments significantly enhance academic performance, student engagement, and holistic development.

Mr. Reinhard Heiserer, in his address, underlined the importance of education as a shared responsibility and encouraged students to value the opportunities provided to them.

A Growing Institution, A Strengthened Commitment

Students actively participated in the celebration through cultural performances, including welcome dances by students of Classes IX, VIII, VII, and VI. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by fellowship.

The newly constructed first-floor extension represents more than an infrastructure addition it is an investment in the future of hundreds of children. Through the dedicated efforts of DB Life in conceptualizing and submitting the project, and the generous support of international partners, Don Bosco School, Pinapaka continues to expand its mission of providing accessible and quality education.

This development reaffirms BIRDY’s commitment to building sustainable educational spaces that empower young people and transform communities.
